Situated in central Bristol, England, just adjacent to Broadmead, is the Cabot Circus Shopping Centre. It is a covered shopping center that has a cinema, offices, shops, a hotel, and 250 apartments. The center was opened to the public in September 2008 and was named after John Cabot, an Italian explorer who is closely related to Bristol.Designed by the Chapman Taylor architects, Cabot Circus Shopping Centre has a sizeable glass-paneled roof, low energy lighting, natural ventilation, and rainwater harvesting system, which made it win a 2008 BREAM Retail award. The center is also divided into two areas, the Circus and the Quakers Friars.
