Best Time to Visit
Ignatyevo Airport was constructed in 1959 and was named after the village right next to it. Its first terminal was a wooden building that stood at almost the exact same spot where the new terminal is. After the airport activities drastically declined in the early 1990s because of the economic struggles of the Russian state, the Governor of Amus Oblast finally signed a decree on 1997 to establish Airport Blagoveshchensk. The airport was then partially reconstructed in the 2000s to improve the service and eventually lure in traffic. The new terminal was commissioned in the latter part of 2010. From Ignatyevo Airport, you can quickly reach the city of Blagoveshchensk, which is just half an hour away.
