Chileka International Airport - BLZ Blantyre
The Chileka International Airport serves as the main airport of Blantyre, Malawi, the second biggest city of the Republic of Malawi. Currently, it is owned and operated by the local government.

BLZ-Chileka International Airport has two (2) runway - one measuring 4,501-foot long; and another one measuring 7,628-foot long. Runway 10/28 is temporarily closed due to renovations and extensions that started in April 2019. Nonetheless, the airport remains operational for smaller aircrafts on runway 15/33. As part of this, all flights on medium-range and large aircrafts operate in Kamuzu International Airport, with transfers to and from Chileka International Airport (BLZ) on smaller aircrafts. Four (4) commercial airlines are operating in the airport. These include Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, Malawian Airlines, and South African Airways. Ethiopian Airlines has routes to and from Addis Ababa and Beira; Kenya Airways has routes to and from Nairobi; Malawian Airlines has routes to and from Dar es Salaam, Johannesburg, and Lilongwe; South African Airways has routes to and from Johannesburg. The Republic of Malawi is a really small country, and there are not that many cities that surround Blantyre. It is a perfect destination for those who just want to disconnect from their daily lives for a time.
