Vadodara Airport – BDQ
Known as the third most active airport in the state of Gujarat and the 31st busiest in the whole country, Vadodara Airport is a public-use airfield found in the northeastern side of the city of Vadodara, India. It is currently operated by the Airports Authority of India and serves Vadodara, the third-biggest city in the state. The Vadodara Airport’s IATA location identifier is BDQ, while its ICAO location identifier is VABO.
Best Time to Visit
Before the construction of a bigger terminal in 2009, BDQ-Vadodara Airport featured a small passenger terminal, which is mostly recognized by its distinct domes on the roof and the unique combination of Gujarati and architectural styles. It can only accommodate 250 passengers then. Today, the new terminal, which is finished in August 2016 and covers a total area of more than 18,000 square meters,canhandle 500 domestic passengers and 200 international passengers hourly. It is also dubbed as the second green airport in the country following Cochin International Airport and a world record holder for the longest single sheet rooftop. From BDQ, you can book a taxi to tour you around Vadodara, which doubles as the state’s Cultural Capital.

While there are no in-house hotels in the airfield yet, but guests can stay at the numerous hotels around the airport. About ten minutes from Vadodara Airport, you can find the OYO1635 Dash Continental and The Fern Regency, both of which offer airport shuttles upon request and 24-hour front desk service.
