Batu, Indonesia or also known as Kota Batu is part of East Java Province. The name Batu literally means “Rock” in the local dialect. It is about 9.3 miles from the town of Malang. Geographically, the town lies on the southern part of the famous Mount Arjuno Welirang. Volcanic peaks surround the city. The people of the city are called Javanese.
