Alexandria Municipal Airport is a public airport owned by the city of Alexandria. It is also known as Chandler Field and can also be referred to by its IATA code, AXN Airport. The airport covers an area measuring 640 acres. It has two runways, both with an asphalt surface. Runway 13/31 measures 5,099 feet long and runway 4/22 measures 4,098 feet long. The airport has served the Alexandria and Douglas County for nearly 70 years. It was originally a stop for aircrafts going to Alaska and Russia during the Second World War. Now, it is an airport home to more than 50 aircrafts. Several aviation services are available at the airport, including flight training, hangar rental, fuel sales, and general servicing.
