Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) is located in Abu Dhabi, which is the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE). This international airport is the second biggest in UAE following Dubai International Airport. AUH serves approximately 20 million visitors and while most of its terminals are occupied by UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways. This airport was opened in 1974 with plans of modernizing the developing nation of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. During that time, the airport serving Abu Dhabi was Al Bateen Airport, which was formerly called Abu Dhabi International Airport before its name was replaced.

AUH-Abu Dhabi Airport has three passenger terminals: Terminal 1, 2, and 3. Travelers who prefer to check-in while in the city can proceed to a check-in facility referred to as the City Terminal located in downtown Abu Dhabi. This facility was designed to replicate an airport terminal with transportation facilities and lounges.
Once a passenger checks-in, they can travel to the airport an hour before their flight departure. Etihad Airways is also operating its own check-in facility on the outskirts of Dubai. AUH airport services the cities of Abu Dhabi, Al Maryah Island, and Masdar City.
