A uniquely and beautifully city embraced by an oak forests in the northern region of San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, CA also happens to be the third largest city in San Luis Obispo. Serviced by the Paso Robles Municipal Airport, the city was originally home to the Salinas Indian tribe. Atascadero is a Spanish name synonymous to “A Place of Much Water”. As Spaniards established missionaries near the coasts of San Juan Obispo, the region, California eventually became a Mexican province region. The city’s name was taken from Rancho Atascadero, built in 1914 and 1918 and remains as one of the historical landmarks in California.
