Yamoussoukro International Airport – ASK Airport
Yamoussoukro International Airport can be found in Yamoussoukro, one of the two capital cities of Côte d’Ivoire or Ivory Coast, a country on the south coast of West Africa. Yamoussoukro is considered the political capital, whereas Abidjan is the economic capital and the largest city of the Ivory Coast.
Best Time to Visit
There is a total of 34 airports in the Ivory Coast and one of them is ASK Airport. The airport itself stands on an elevation of 699 ft. above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 05/23 and measures 9,844 feet or 3,000 meters. The runway surface is asphalted. In 2004, French infantry attached the airport as retaliation after a military aircraft from the airport bombed a UN peacekeeper base and rebel targets. Most of the country’s aircrafts were destroyed after the attack. Yamoussoukro Airport or ASK does not seem to have any scheduled service or airlines operating passenger service in the airport. The nearest major airport to ASK is Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport or ABJ in Abidjan.
