One of the most anticipated events in the area is Festival de Santa Tecla, which is held every September. It is a 10-day event featuring a unique sports where teams compete to build castells or human castles. Members of each team stand on one another’s shoulders to build a castell that is nine-level high. The festival concludes with a fascinating fireworks display.
