Aguadilla: Bring Your Boards, It’s A Surfing Spot
Aguadilla, Puerto Rico is a resort hill town just minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean. It was established in the late 17th century. The town is well-known for its rugged beaches that are also great surfing spots. The joint commercial and military airport called Rafael Hernandez International Airport (BQN) is home to the US Coast Guard and handles flights to and from other North and South American cities such as New York and Punta Cana.
Best Time to Visit
A tropical climate is experienced over at Aguadilla which means there is a very distinct dry and wet seasons. Half of the time, the town is under a heavy downpour of rain. But if you want to avoid that, the ideal time to visit the town is between December and February when it is the coolest, less likely to have rain, lower tourist turnout, and cheaper Aguadilla hotels. March and April are also great months especially since these are the start of summer season in town.

Another excellent option to book in town is the modern and cute A La Bella Noni Bed & Breakfast and as you can guess, breakfast comes complimentary. The most popular beach in town is known as Crash Boat Beach. It is one of the best beaches where you can enjoy huge waves, totally perfect for surfing. If you get tired, there is the charming El Parterre – a plaza surrounded by statues, flowers, and mini food shops – ideal for casual strolling or lazy lounging. If you have children with you then Las Cascadas Water Park will surely delight them.
