Abakan International Airport is a public airport with an airport code of ABA, located in the outskirts of Abakan in the Republic of Khakassia, Russia. JSC Aeroport Abakan is operating this airport, and it is the only airport in the region capable of accommodating all types of aircraft. Abakan International Airport was established in 1993 as Abakan Airport, an independent enterprise from the Abakan Aviation Enterprise. That same year after several preparatory workloads for the international sector, the airport has given the international status. In 2000, Abakan International Airport has won the Best Airport in CIS countries by the Airport Association.
