Al Ain International Airport is a relatively new airport, located in Al Ain City, Abu Dhabi, UAE, having been established in 1994 only. Currently, it is the 5th busiest airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and one of the fastest growing as well. It is a key player in the tourism industry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as the target site of Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park, the region’s first aerospace cluster. It is developed by Abu Dhabi Airports and Mubadala Aerospace, aiming to give a boost to the local economy and create a sustainable aviation industry.

AAN-Al Ain International Airport is operated by Abu Dhabi Airports, a public company wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi government, has one terminal with four (4) gates and 10 check-in desks. It has only one (1) runway, but it is one of the longest runways in the world. It measures 13,123-foot long. However, it also has a parallel taxiway that may alternatively serve as a runway when needed. Three (3) airlines have operations in the airport. These include Air India Express, Nile Air, and Pakistan International Airlines. Given the continuous growth in the local tourism industry, there are a lot of plans to expand the airport. These developments include the expansion of the cargo terminal, check-in areas, and departure lounge; improvement of office spaces; innovation of inflight catering services; among others.
