Lester B. Pearson International Airport or Toronto Pearson International Airport is the main international airport in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Toronto, Canada. Undeniably, it is the busiest and biggest airport in Canada. It is also considered as the second busiest airport in North America. In 2018, it handled almost 50 million passengers.

The Canadian government ordered the construction of two (2) airports in Toronto in 1937 - the YYZ- Lester B. Pearson International Airport and the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The Lester B. Pearson International Airport was named after Lester B. Pearson, the 14th Prime Minister of Canada. Currently, it is owned by Transport Canada and operated by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority since 1996. It serves as a hub for Air Canada, Air Canada Express, Air Canada Rouge, FedEx Express, WestJet, and WestJet Encore. As one of the busiest international airports in the world, it has five (5) runways. The lengths of these runways are 11,120’, 9,697’, 9,000’, 11,050’, and 9,088’. The airport has two (2) passenger terminals, Terminals 1 and 3, both of which are for domestic and international flights. With its strategic location, YYZ airport is accessible to a lot of interesting cities in the country, including Markham, Doncaster, University District, Caledon, and Aurora.
