York: A Charming City Packed with Rich Cultural Heritage
Established in 1930 by the South Carolina’s early settlers after the merging of New York Station and Old Anvil, York was a community in Alabama that is considered the second biggest city next to Livingston, its county seat. York was once known as farming town and cotton manufacturer with warehouses and gins is now the centre of cultural and theatre performances. It is the home of Coleman’s Center for Arts and Culture where famous artists, such as Matthew Mazzotta are requested to live in the town to develop the music and theatre industry of the town. York was part of Sumter County that is being catered by Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM).

Tourists may also visit York during summer of the Annual Alabama Summer Festival that features live music band performances.
