Yakima is the eleventh largest city by population in US state of Washington. It is strategically situated in the Yakima Valley and is known for its apple, wine, and hop production. The name Yakima sounds Japanese but it actually originates from the Yakima Nation Native American tribe. Its reservation is located south of the city. Yakima, Washington has a lot of beautiful outdoor attractions so there are a lot of things to do in warmer months. The best time to visit Yakima would be July, followed closely by June and August. However, it is during these months when hotels are more expensive. You may find great hotel deals when you book well in advance. Tourism dwindles down in November so Yakima, WA hotels are also more affordable. If you want to try out the winter in Yakima, snow is deepest mid-December or late January.
