Built in 1965, the XLR - Libourne - Artigues-de-Lussac Airport has two runways that are equipped to handle most single and twin-engine aircraft. It also has a parking area, warehouses, a restaurant, and a refueling station, making it an ideal stopover for small aircraft. As it is home to the Libroune Aeroclub, members can use the XLR Airport for its activities, such as initiation flights, baptisms of the air, and flying school. The aeroclub also hosts an aerodrome festival every summer. Close to the area are a lot of cities, including the city of Bordeaux, the center of France’s wine-growing and producing region. Other communes close to the area are the communes of Quinsac, Salaunes, and Cambes.
