Volgograd International Airport – VOG Volgograd
Within 15 kilometers northwest of Volgograd, Russia lies the Volgograd International Airport. For Air Volga, it served as its base. However when Air Volga went bankrupt, it was managed by RusLine during April 2010, to which the airport later on catered as well. Its former name was Gumrak Airport, a supply and fuel depot for the German 6th Army back in the year 1942-1943 in the Battle of Stalingrad.
Best Time to Visit
VOG-Volgograd International Airport has 3 terminals; the newest became fully operational on May 8, 2018 for domestic flights, the other in 2016 for international flights, the third one integrated with a walking gallery as well as air-bridges. Around the block is a bus terminal near Terminal B as well as a railway station near Terminal A – a convenient way to alight from the airport. It would be an easy ride to Vologograd Panorama Museum and visit its attractions like Vologograd Panorama Museum as well as Gumrak to drop by The Motherland Calls. Cities nearby, like the Solyanoy and Vodstroy are surrounded by hotels that are very much affordable with great hospitality-cased services.
