Vasai: A Legacy City in India
Formerly called Bassein, Vasai lies in West Maharashtra and is seen as both a historical place and an important city to Mumbai. Vasai has a tropical climate with July being the wettest month. Months from December to February are the regions cooler season while the hottest months are March to June.

Vasai is also known for its many forts during their time as a colony. During the Portuguese occupation, Bassein Fort was built to create a fortification of their power over their Arabian Sea.
