Trabzon Airport – TZX
Trabzon, Turkey’s airport named after the town itself, Trabzon Airport, is the country’s 9th busiest airport when it comes to passenger traffic. It officially started operations in the year 1947. It is also ranked as Turkey’s 7th busiest airport when it comes to domestic flights. Next to it is a magnificent view of the eastern Black Sea, most especially seen during landing and take-off. Majority of the flights are domestic but several international ones can be taken at TZX-Trabzon Airport as well.
Best Time to Visit
There are two relatively small passenger terminals at the Trabzon Airport (TZX). One is for domestic passengers and the other is for international passengers. Only a single runway exists. As aforementioned, the most popular flights are domestic. These are to and from Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya. Turkish Airlines, Anadolu Jet, and Pegasus Airlines handle these routes. Some of the international flights they handle seasonally are to and from Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jeddah. The Trabzon Airport reached its peak in 2009 when 1.5 million passengers boarded and alighted through it that year. Iyidere, Turkey is a nearby town only less than an hour away from Trabzon Airport
