Thanjavur Air Force Station– TJV Thanjavur, India
Located in Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, India is the headquarters to a squadron of the Indian Air Force (IAF) flying the SukhoiSu-30 MKI aircraft. The Thanjavur Air Force Station (TJV) was inaugurated in May 2013. During WWII, the airfield was used by the Royal Air Force as a base forits array of fighter aircraft. Subsequently, it was handed over to the government for civilian use then the IAF took over the airfield again in March 1990. In 2015, there were 75 recorded aircraft movements in the airfield.

TJV-Thanjavur Air Force Station is situated at an elevation of 253 feet above mean sea level. It utilizes two concrete-surfaced runways. A parallel taxiway and aprons are under construction. The island of Srirangam, a part of the city of Tiruchirappalli and the ancient city of Tiruchirappalli (also called Tiruchi or Trichy) also in the Tamil Nadu state and known for sacred Hindu sites are in close proximity to the Thanjavur Air Force Station.
