About Corus Hotels Tiddington
Corus Hotels is a hotel chain with 8 establishments in the UK, with 2 other hotels in Malaysia. The hotels are owned by the London Vista Hotel Limited, which is part of the Malayan United Industries. The brand name was launched in 1998 by the Regal Hotel Group, in order to set it apart from the Regal Hotels International. Now headquartered in Berkhamsted, the Corus Hotels continues to serve with unparalleled services even after the huge issue of maître d’ Elena Salvoni’s retirement on the same day the government announced plans to remove the default retirement age in 2010. Ms. Salvoni was 90 years old. The news made the national newspaper as Corus Hotels was best known for the maître d’s service.
Back in 2003, Corus launched a chef training school, which was followed later on by a Reception School. These schools became a training ground in hopes to at least reach half of Ms. Salvoni’s part in the business. Fortunately, the schools gave birth to great hotel staff who is now active contributors in Corus. Until now, the Ms. Salvoni has never been replaced with someone with such level of expertise and appeal to clients. Still, Corus Hotels continue to expand operations and improve in their field.
