Tejakula: A Diving City
Located in the northern part of Bali, Indonesia is the regency of Buleleng, and within its territory is the village of Tejakula. The village is a great example of a sustained way of life through the means of local fishing, also having the oldest communities in Bali. It is known for its community driven marine protection initiative. As a local or tourist attraction, Tejakula is a great coastal destination where diving or scuba diving and some snorkeling is particularly offered and enjoyed. It also has local projects for diving volunteers that allow the planting, rebuilding, or adopting corals.
Best Time to Visit
Tejakula's high season is during July and August, as well as December and January for its best weather but has higher Tejakula hotel rates. For a better and calmer season, June and September are good choices for equally fine weather and more affordable rates.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Tourists love to enjoy a side trip to Tejakula when visiting places near the village. The Angel Canyon is a diverse dive site where colorful marine life like corals and sponges can be seen and explored into the shallow depths of clear water. For an inland adventure, the Yeh Mampeh (Les Waterfall) is one of Bali's hidden waterfalls. It is also one of the island's tallest cascades falling from a 30-meter height. The hike itself through the forests and the swim into the foot of the waterfall is already a must itself. Tourists should also visit the oldest communities in Bali where there are a lot of farmlands and natural plantations that can be seen and admired, as well as hike through lava rock hills to see the sea. These villages also capture architectural and megalithic stones for homes. The Ponjok Batu sea temple is also a great spot, which is built entirely out of dark lava stones. For accommodations and resort reservations, Bondalem Beach Club, Villa Boreh Beach Resort, and Spa and Cili Emas Oceanside Resort are great choices for tourists who love to relax and admire seaside views and enjoy water activities.
