Teguise: Lanzarote’s Not-So-Hidden Gem
Teguise, Spain forms part of the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands province. It’s a fairly small municipality with just over 22,000 residents. Unsurprisingly, Teguise is a favorite among tourists because of its many museums and the available beaches. Currently, the town is being served by the Arrecife–Lanzarote Airport, which is located in a neighboring town and is just around 19km from the city itself.
Best Time to Visit
In all honesty, there’s no wrong time to visit Teguise, ES. Tourists flock to the city at any time of the year – even during the cooler months. The city has a lot to offer which is why there’s a constant stream available. Teguise, Spain hotels are almost always packed especially during the months of June to September. A slow decline starts around October when you’re likely to get cheaper rates for transport and hotel rooms. You can also use Teguise as a jump-off point to other cities, especially since the province as a whole celebrates several festivals including a Carnaval celebrated in varying dates.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Many of the hotels in the area are close to the water like the 4-star Sands Beach Resort or the Galeon Playa. Don’t worry though because these accommodations are easily accessible to top attractions, like the Cactus Garden or the El Patio Agriculture Museum. If you’re a fan of art, you might want to visit the Cesar Manrique Foundation or may just relax in the nearby Costa Teguise Golf Club before going to the Aqua Park Costa Teguise.
