Stachy: Snow Stacking in Town
Situated in the South Bohemia Region, the town of Stachy, Czech Republic has a population not exceeding 1300. It is part of the district of Prachatice. It is about two hours away from the capital city, Prague. Plenty of ski resorts are found nearby the town hence, enticing many tourists to drop by for a quick visit. A breathtaking view of the Sumava Mountain Ranges is also offered by the town.
Best Time to Visit
Stachy, as close to the Alps region, prevails with a cold to freezing weather throughout the entire year. As aforementioned, tourists flock to the town to do some winter or snow-based activities such as skiing and snowboarding. Hence, the most recommended time to visit is between November and March when the snow is freshest and deepest. Unsurprisingly, Stachy hotels have high rates during these months because of the high demand.

Dobrá Chata can be found right next to numerous ski lifts. It is one of the most recommended hotels in Stachy. Other hotels on the recommendations list are HOTEL CHURÁNOV, in the Sumava National Park or Scottish Highlander Guesthouse, over at the border of Czech and Germany. Ski resorts are the main attractions in town. Among the popular ones include Zadov Ski Area and Javornik Ski Resort. Both have tons of winter-based activities such as skiing, snowboarding, riding a snowmobile, and others. The former also has hiking trails available in case you visit during summer. There is also the Popelna Hora which is a mountain nearby where you can also hike or trek during summer. Meanwhile, Pošumavské hasičské muzeum is an interesting museum about firefighters.
