St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda is often neglected because of its shabby and rundown personality. Although this is the case, the capital city should be worth exploring. Over the years, the government has made an effort to renovate the seafront area of the town. They have also made an effort to put a good face on the cruise terminal. They have renovated the ship dock to welcome tourists. Cruise passengers often just pass by the town to explore the shops. However, some choose to stay to explore the architectural structures found in the town. VC Bird International Airport (ANU) is 12 miles from St John’s.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit St John’s is from May to November. It is the off-peak season of the island. St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda hotels are often inexpensive during these months. December to April are considered the peak season. For those who want to avoid crowds, these are not the best months to go to the island.

There are a lot of attractions in St. Johns. For those who love art, the Coates Cottage Art Gallery should be part of the itinerary. The Museum of Antigua and Barbuda is a must-visit for those who love art. VC Bird Monument is another place of attraction in St Johns. Accommodations in the town are not hard to find. Another reasonably priced hotel is the Anchorage Inn, which offers laundry services, a restaurant and an outdoor pool.
