Marechal Cunha Machado International Airport – SLZ Sao Luis
Marechal Cunha Machado International Airport with code SLZ is located in Sao Luis, Brazil. Tirirical Airport is the former name of the airport. In 1985, the name of the airport was moved to Marechal Cunhal Machado. Sao Luis is the largest city in Maranhao. In terms of population, it is the 15th largest in Brazil. Aside from the airport, the city has two major seaports - Madeira Port and Itaqui Ports. The boats are also being used to carry travelers to city and other nearby towns. Aside from direct flights, the cities are being served by hundreds of bus lines.

During the Second World War, a grassy runway measure about 1000 meters served as a base of the Brazilian Army. It is a way for the city to receive flights. After two years, another runway was built as part of US base. It began operating a year after. In 1974, the government has transferred the operations to Infraero which was known to handle Brazil Airport. Sao Luis Historical Center is also a city that is being served by SLZ airport.
