Known for its “Pecan Tree”, the tree is an actual tree and symbolized the heart of Sherman, TX. Originally located four miles from its present day location, this iconic tree stood in the southeastern section of the region, now the city’s public square. Streets in the city were named after Texas heroes and were given by T.J. Shannon’s daughter. Shannon was the man behind the clearing operation required to hitch and drag the famous Pecan tree of the city. At present, Sherman is one of the regions in Texas with the best infrastructures and airport facilities.
