The said center was designed by John C. Portman. It is considered the modern buildings in the city of Shanghai. The center is located in a prestigious area. It is just across the Shanghai Exhibition Center Complex. The complex has a Russian and neoclassical style. Shanghai Center has about 472 apartment units. There are 30,000 square meters of high-end office area. It also features a supermarket, department stores, theater, exhibition centers, and even a 5-star hotel. The complex was opened to the public in 1990. Aside from the towers, it is also surrounded by accessory buildings.
