Known internationally by its IATA airport code RTB and ICAO airport code MHRO, Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport is an international airport found on the western side of the island of Roatán, Honduras in the department of Bay Islands. It is about two kilometers away from Coxen Hole, the largest and main city of the island.Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport was formerly called Roatán International Airport until it was renamed after the former president of the country, Juan Manuel Gálvez.
Best Time to Visit
The RTB-Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport has only one runway with a length of 2,090 meters and a width of 45 meters. There is also only one terminal in the airfield, which houses a duty shop, café/bars, and coffee shops. The terminal was upgraded in 2013, expanding the check-in area and putting up more shops. Currently, ten airlines provide scheduled flights to and from Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport. Seasonal and charter flights are also offered here by Air Transat, Sunwing Airlines, Transportes Aéreos Guatemaltecos, and WestJet. While in the area, make time to visit Little French Key, Sandy Bay, and Flowers Bay.

The Barefoot Cay Resort is just a four-minute walk from the airport, but if you’re looking for beachfront accommodation, you should check out the Blue Bahia Resort and the Splash Inn Dive Resort & Villas. They are within a 15-minute drive from RTB and offer airport shuttles.
The Goloson International Airport (LCE) is also a convenient way to reach the country as it is on the mainland.
