Palanga International Airport with code PLQ is located in Palanga, Lithuania. Palanga International Airport was inaugurated in 1937. It was used by Lithuania Air Force as a training ground. After two years, there are first scheduled airline services then began operating on the route of Kaunas and Palanga. During the war, it was used by the Soviets as their airbase. A few years after the war, it became a civilian airport. In 1991, the airport became a state-owned facility. Sventoji and Vilimiske are two cities that are nearby the airport.
