Prince Hotels is hotel chains based in Toshima-ku, Tokyo, Japan and is a subsidiary of Seibu Holdings, Inc. Along with Seibu Railway, Prince Hotels is the essential company of Seibu Group. Prince hotels were established after buying several properties of families who is a member of Japanese peerage after World War II. Due to crippling taxation, these families are force sell their properties to Yasujiro Tsutsumi, who was managing Seibu Railway, and developed these properties into hotels. Its first hotel, the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, opened in 1953 and followed by the Tokyo Prince Hotel in 1964.
