Ghriss Airport – MUW Mascara, Algeria

It is a civilian airport situated in what is known as the administrative, commercial and a market centerof the province. During World War II, the facility, then called the Thiersville Airfield served as the base of operation for the Twelfth Air Force during the North African Campaign. The airport was heavily used between May and June 1943 to transport C-47 Skytrain from the airfield. As a public airport, it has been operational since 1945.
