Midway: A Merry Community
There are many unincorporated communities in Arkansas and there are a few of them named Midway. As to not be confused, this town is a farming community situated in the Baxter County. It is nearby many outdoor recreational sites in the state. Baxter Country Airport / Ozark Regional Airport (WHM) is a few minutes away from Midway, Arkansas. However, the airport is only used for general aviation and not commercial flights.
Best Time to Visit
Midway, AR has a prevalent subtropical climate, which means there are hot summers and mild winters. It is best to visit during fall when the landscapes are gorgeous and the weather is pleasant. However, this season tends to be the peak season and Midway hotels are pricey. Many festivals, both small and huge, are also celebrated during this season. You should not miss out on the Carnival Midway that takes place in October.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Less than an hour away from Midway is the Buffalo National River. The water flows into the 153-mile long area where you can swim, kayak, or ride a boat on some parts. Bull Shoals Lake is another body of water accessible within 30 minutes. It has numerous coves you can explore and you can also go swimming, fishing, or boating. You can also explore the Mountain Village 1890, which is a tribute village to the first settlers of the area.
Most of the Midway hotels are located in the next town, Mountain Home, and are just a few minutes away. The top-rated ones are Executive Inn Mountain Home, Super 8 by Wyndham Mountain Home, and Hampton Inn Mountain Home. The latter one has an outdoor pool for its guests.
