Meghauli Airport - MEY
Meghauli Airport is one of the main civilian airports located in Meghauli, Nepal. It is considered to be the major airport that serves the area of the Chitwan National Park within the Province No. 3 of southern Nepal in the Chitwan District. Built in 1961, the airport was built in the same year when Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth visited the region. It was closed for several years but was later opened in 2016 for charter flights and 2017 for scheduled flights once again.
Best Time to Visit
MEY-Meghauli Airport features a grass surfaced runway that is 3,560 feet in length and is in the direction 8/26. It sits 183 meters above mean sea level and currently caters flights to Kathmandu via Nepal Airlines. Sauraha would be a great place to start your adventure near the MEY Airport. This village is located in the Chitwan Valley, also in Province No. 3 and features several museums, a jungle that can be explored, park tours and close encounter with elephants.

There are no MEY Airport hotels available within the vicinity of the terminal. However, there are plenty of relaxing and nice hotels near the airport. The 4-star Hotel Rainforest and the Jungle World Resort are a few of the fine accommodations you can enjoy near the airport.
Bharatpur Airport (BHR) is the closest airport near the MEY Airport. It is also located in Province No. 3 and one of the two airports in the Bharatour Metropolitan Area.
