Jorge Chávez International Airport – LIM Lima
The Jorge Chávez International Airport is the main domestic and international airport in Peru. It is a major public airport that is located in Callao, Lima, Peru and serves as a hub for aviation companies. Its airport code, LIM, stands for the country capital city’s name Lima. Before 1960, the first airport of Lima is Limatambo Airport. When it ceased to operate, Lima-Callao International Airport, the now Jorge Chavez International Airport replaced it. In 1965, it got its present name in honor to Peru’s famous aviator Jorge Chavez. As of 2017, the airport has handled 22,025,704passengers.
Best Time to Visit
The LIM-Jorge Chavez International Airport has a single passenger terminal divided into two levels. Upper level is for check-in facilities, while the lower level is for the baggage claim facilities. It has also three concourses, A, B, and C. It currently operates 114 flights on a daily basis to 18 airports in 15 cities. Some of the best cities to go from Jorge Chavez International Airport include Ancon, Mala, and Punta Hermosa.
