Lafayette Regional Airport – LFT
The Lafayette Regional Airport is a public type airport in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is located two miles southeast of Lafayette in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States and serves the city and the nearby towns. The Lafayette Regional Airport, whose airport code is LFT, dates back to 1930 when it was opened as Lafayette Municipal Airport. In 1942, the airport was used as a contract primary pilot training airfield but returned to civil control in 1945. It was onlyin 1948 when the airport was converted to public and commercial use with its first scheduled passenger fight into Lafayette served by Eastern Air Lines.
