Le Barcares: Escaping in the Beach Destination of Southern France
The commune of Le Barcarès, France, is located in the department of Pyrénées-Orientales department, near the Mediterranean Sea. It is found in the southern region of the country and houses around 6,000 residents as of the 2016 census. Welcoming about 150,000 attendants, the three-day Electrobeach Festival is truly the biggest event in Le Barcarès. It is held every July inside the gardens of Lydia, a 1931 ocean liner that has been in the sands since 1967 and now serves as a museum. The event features various DJs from across the globe, creating a unique party atmosphere by the beach. Since this month is also the busiest for tourism in Le Barcarès, expect expensive Le Barcarès, France hotels. On the contrary, September is the least active month for the town, the perfect time to get discounted room rates.
