Arnold Palmer Regional Airport – LBE Airport
Arnold Palmer Regional Airport was formerly known as Westmoreland County Airport. It is located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The airport was later on renamed to its current name in September 1999 in celebration of Arnold Palmer’s 70th birthday. As of 2010, the airport had a total of 6,978 passenger boardings, making it a non-hub primary commercial service facility.
Best Time to Visit
LBE Airport sits on land measuring 945 acres and stands on an elevation of 1,199 feet above mean sea level. It has two runways, but only one is active. The active runway has an asphalt surface and measures 8,222 feet long. The airport features a terminal building and one baggage claim. Parking is free at the airport. At present, Spirit Airlines provides passenger service at the airport with regular schedules to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. It also offers seasonal flights to Tampa, Fort Myers, and Myrtle Beach. Locals in nearby cities namely Scott Township, Tarentum, and Verona also benefit from the services offered by LBE.
