Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport – LAD Airport
Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport is an international and main airport in Angola. The LAD Airport situated in the south area of Luanda. The airport is named after an important national holiday in Angola, the Quatro de Fevereiro, which means February 4. This holiday marked the struggle of the country against the Portuguese colonial regime. In the year 2009, as much as 1.8 million tourists passed through the LAD Airport.

LAD Airport is also known as Luanda International Airport or Aeroporto Internacional Quatro de Fevereiro. The airport was first built in 1951 but due to the growing business and tourism in Luanda, the international airport had to go through rapid expansion to meet such a need. It resides on land 243 feet above sea level and has two runways. The airport has scheduled international flights to Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Beijing, Dubai, Porto, and London as well as many other European countries. By 2020, LAD Airport will be replaced by the new under construction Angola International Airport. Locals from Camama also find the Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport their preferred airport.
