Katowice Airport – KTW
Katowice Airport is an international airport that serves the Katowice, Poland, the Silesian Metropolis, and the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Area. It is an international airport, operating under airport code KTW. It is located in Pyrzowice, which is 18.6 miles outside for Katowice. It sees the fourth biggest passenger flow in Poland and is the second biggest cargo airport in the country. In 2018, it handled 4.8 million passengers and moved 18,547 metric tonnes of cargo. The Upper Silesian Aviation Group operates Katowice Airport.
Best Time to Visit
The very first international flight was done through German carrier Lufthansa in 1993. An additional terminal, Terminal B was opened in 2007. Katowice Airport has three passenger terminals plus a cargo terminal. There are future plans to add another passenger terminal and further expand the cargo terminal. There is a single runway with a concrete surface. It measures 3,200 meters. Some of the airlines that operate in Katowice Airport include AMC Airlines, Bul Air, Bulgarian Air Charter, Aegean Airlines, and more. LOT Polish Airlines, the country’s flag carrier also operates in the airport. It also serves as a focus city for a number of airlines including Ryanair Sun and Wizz Air.

The Moxy by Marriott is located right next to main parking entrance of the airport and is very close to the terminals. There are also plans to create a bridge that will transport guests directly to the terminal. In addition to this, there are more than 150 hotels that are available in the area served by Katowice Airport.
