Tribhuvan International Airport – KTM Kathmandu
The Tribhuvan International Airport is known as the sole international airport in Nepal. It is a major public airport that is located in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal and serves as a hub for some Nepalese airlines and more than 30 international airlines connected Nepal to destinations in Asia and the Middle East. Its airport code, KTM, stands for Nepal capital and largest city’s name Kathmandu. Since 1949 and being Gauchaur Airport, the airport served as an airfield. In 1955, it was inaugurated by King Mahendra and renamed Tribhuvan Airport in memory of his father. In 1964, it was again renamed as Tribhuvan International Airport. As of 2018, the airport has handled 7,190,238 passengers.

The KTM-Tribhuvan International Airport has two public terminals one is for international and the other for domestic routes. There is also a separate terminal for VIP guests where state representatives are welcome. The airport has a single concrete runway.
