Kastamonu Airport – KFS Kastamonu, Turkey
Kastamonu Airport, which uses the identifying IATA code of KFS is an airport open for civilian use. It is located in the northern city of Kastamonu, Turkey. It is a new airport having been inaugurated only in July of 2013. Since it opened, KFS airport has been operating regular domestic flights only to Istanbulvia IST Airport and SAW Airport through Turkish Airlines. It is managed by the General Directorate of State Airports of Turkey. The airport has been serving Kastamonu as well as several adjacent towns in the Kastamonu province.

Having been built only recently, the KFS-Kastamonu Airport is equipped with modern navigation, communication systems and terminal electronics, computer and network systems to ensure efficient, effective and safe management of air traffic. It may be small compared to other airports in the country but it adequately provides for the aviation needs of its locality. The terminal is well-maintained and secure. There is one asphalt-paved runway. The city center of Kastamonu is only 14 minutes away by car making traveling to and from the airport very convenient.
