Imlil: Center of Morocco’s Mountain Tourism
Imlil, Morocco is a village created to attend to the growing tourism activity in the area, mainly because of the surrounding mountains. It is the center of mountain tourism in the country. The nearest airport to the village is the Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK).

What to Do & Area Attractions
Agdal Gardens or Aguedal Gardens is one of the must-see attractions in the area. Founded by Abd al-Mu’ min in the 12th century, it houses groves of apricot, fig, lemon, orange, and pomegranate trees. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Tourists should also visit Toubkal National Park, which was founded in 1942. Another famous attraction in the area is Majorelle Garden, an artist’s landscape garden and botanical garden. It was created by Jacques Majorelle, a French Orientalist artist, in 1923 for about 40 years. It also has a Cubist villa. Today, it is open to the public and is home to Berber Museum, Islamic Art Museum, and Yves Saint Laurent Museum.
