The period from spring to early summer is a great time to visit Iasi to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the city while avoiding the intense heat in the middle of summer. Because of how populated Iasi is, it is advisable to go in January, when crowds are sparse. The Afterhills Music & Arts Festival has taken place annually in Iasi since 2017 every summer.

There are plenty beautiful attractions to see in Iasi, Romania. The University of Iasi, now known as the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, is the oldest university in all of Romania. Its exterior façade and outdoor fountain are already a sight to behold. Within its halls are numerous departments that have held Iasi’s academic and cultural legacy for centuries. Iasi’s Metropolitan Cathedral is the largest Orthodox Church in Romania and is considered a historic monument. It features Gothic architecture with influences of Baroque style. Its exterior prominently features a painted mosaic detailing the Presentation of Jesus in Jersualem. In its basement is the Metropolitan Museum, dedicated to showcasing the history of the cathedral’s metropolis.
