Hickory, Exploring the Furniture Manufacturing Capital of the World

The community was founded back in 1863 under the name of “Hickory Tavern,” then later shortened to Hickory in 1873. Among the iconic attractions in Hickory is the Bunker Hill Covered Bridge that has been listed as a National Civil Engineering Landmark back in 2001.
