Havelock Island: Home of the Best Beaches in Asia and the Swimming Elephants
Known to be home for Asia’s best beaches, Havelock Island is at the top list of largest islands that is included in the Andaman and Great Adaman Islands in India. It resides under the administrative district of South Adaman, and is located 25 miles northeast of Port Blair, the capital city. The name came after a general of British origins which is Sir Henry Havelock. Havelock Island is one of the few islands that have opened its doors to welcome tourist, powered by the Nicobar and Andaman Islands administration.
Best Time to Visit
On the months of December until February, the city has a good weather all throughout that is best for exploring the depths of the streets in Havelock Island, or simply in the shores of the Island to devour the beauty of the pristine waters surrounding the island. The Island Tourism Festival or Dweep Mahotsav is a 15-day event held between the months of December until February that showcases the culture through dances, floating restaurants as well as musical performances by Bollywood singers.
