Grenada, MS got its name from the Indian word roughly translated to“marriage” as the city was built by the confluence of the four counties of Carroll, Tallahatchie, Choctaw, and Yalobusha. Home to over 12,000 residents, Grenada sits on the south bank of the Yalobusha River, in Grenada County, Mississippi, United States. It is a short distance from Grenada Lake, a man-made lake supervised by the Army Corps of Engineers. In the early days, cotton was the main industry that fed Grenada's economy.
