The Gloucestershire Airport is a public and military airport located in Staverton, Gloucestershire in England. It serves the M5 area as well as Gloucestershire, England. Best Time to Visit
The airport was opened in the early 1930s and it was named after the village of Down Hatherley. It was used for training purposes during World War II and was known as RAF Staverton. After the war, the airport was mainly used as a test site for aircrafts. It was also around this time when scheduled flights to the Isle of Man, Dublin, and the Channel Islands started. Its name was change to Gloucestershire Airport (GLO) in 1993. Expansion and updates were undertaken and completed in 2009.
