General Luna: Visit the Surfing Capital of South East.
General Luna, Philippines is located in the province of Surigao Del Norte. It is considered the jump-off point for those who want to go around the islands found in the nearby area. The municipality has less than 20,000 people. Tourists who love surfing will consider it as a haven because of its huge waves. It will not be called Surfing Capital of the Philippines for anything. To access the town, the lone Siargao Island Airport (IAO) is the only access to General Luna. There are several islands that are considered part of the municipality. The country is considered it part of protected landscape and seascape.
Best Time to Visit
Watersports is the main reason why people would visit General Luna. To enjoy the said island, it is best to visit from months of November to February. It is considered an off-peak season where there is less crowded. The months of March to October is considered the busiest time for the island. The month of September is also when the Annual Siargao Internal Surfing Competition is held.

Because of its close proximity to the popular destination, which is Siargao, General Luna is considered the starting point to visit the nearby islands.
